Between teaching yoga, taking yoga, and relaxing after yoga, I go through more leggings in a week than most people go through in a month. And as someone who owns over 40 pairs of leggings (yes, really), I consider myself somewhat of a legging connoisseur—especially when it comes to workout leggings.

I'm the first to admit that Lululemon will forever have my heart (and my wallet) but I also own—and love—a few Alo Yoga tanks. So when I saw that celebs like Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez are big fans of the Alo leggings, I decided to give their favorite styles a try.

What I love about Alo Yoga leggings

A firm believer that black leggings are the best leggings, I ordered Kylie's sporty black-and-white striped Legit Leggings and Gigi's sleek black Airlift Leggings. I got both in sizes extra small and small so I could compare the fit. (For reference, I typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon.) While the extra small was perfectly fine, I found the small to be a little more forgiving and comfortable, especially around my thighs.

Just like my favorite pair of leggings, the Lululemon Align, the Alo leggings also have a high waist that's as flattering as it is comfy (i.e. it holds everything in place and streamlines any bumps or "imperfections"). It stays in place, too, and doesn't roll down when you're working out, which is a major pet peeve of mine.

More importantly, the sweat-wicking fabric that they're made of is both breathable and supportive with just the right amount of compression. That means I can wear them in a 110-degree yoga class without dying and also when I do higher-intensity exercises like running or lifting weights. The fabric is also thick enough that it isn't see-through, which I very much appreciate when I'm doing squats in a room full of gym bros or teaching 30 people how to do down dog.

What I don't like about Alo Yoga leggings

I only have one issue with Alo leggings—and it's more of a "me" problem than anything else. Because of my body shape (i.e. a longer than normal torso), pulling the leggings up to where I like them on my waist occasionally gives me the dreaded camel toe, which is not exactly the look I'm going for. A few reviewers on Nordstrom's website mentioned the same thing happening to them with Alo leggings so it's something to be aware of if you have a long torso.

Are Alo leggings worth buying?

In general, I'm a big fan of Alo leggings. They're flattering, comfortable, and incredibly high quality. I've been wearing mine at least four times a week—for everything from hot yoga to spin—and they've been holding up great. I love that I can wear them for almost any occasion and that, when I'm working out, they provide the right amount of both comfort and compression.

That being said, if you have short legs or a longer torso, they may not fit as well as you'd like. For me personally, the Lululemon Aligns are a better fit for both my legs and my torso (i.e. no camel toe or bunching up).
