The majority of drivers have heard another driver claim that automobiles are designed to outlast 100,000 kilometers.

Well, the assertion isn't entirely incorrect. According to the First Plan Maintenance Report, the amount of kilometers that begin to take their toll on cars is 126,000, which translates into significant wear and tear breakdowns, and 131,000 as detailed breakdowns.

When do BMW start having problems?

Faults caused by vehicle faults or carelessness account for 0.5 percent of all interventions.

The most prevalent (41%) is to utilize gasoline rather than diesel or vice versa.

This necessitates a thorough cleaning of the spark plugs and circuit.

Another typical error is forgetting the keys inside the locked car (25 percent); if a copy is unavailable, the lock will most likely have to be replaced.

It stands out in terms of irresponsibility to ignore the indicator lights on the dashboard (23 percent ) suggesting that something is amiss. Lack of oil, issues with distribution or cooling, braking system breakdowns, battery discharge, or airbag anomalies are some of the failures that the warning lights warn about. If ignored, it can result in significant and repeated breakdowns and even pose a risk to driving.

Not cleaning the mud that has accumulated on the underside of the vehicle (5 percent), failing to prevent the engine from overheating (3 percent), and failing to comply with the manufacturer's maintenance checks (2 percent) are all examples of ordinary negligence that drivers could avoid simply by paying more attention to their vehicles.

The oil and filter replacement process

Before you begin, we recommend that you park your car in a location where you can work comfortably and have enough space to move around.

Once you've located a suitable location, start the car and let the engine warm-up for around twenty minutes to ready the oil for a change.

If your vehicle has an automatic transmission function, the oil change must be performed with the gear set to 'P,' but oil replacement with a manual transmission requires engaging the first gear and applying the handbrake.

After that, you'll need to position the jack, and the jack stands beneath the appropriate places to elevate the automobile.

But first, shake the car firmly to ensure that you have positioned them accurately and solidly.

All that remains is to insert the plastic pan beneath the engine and open the hood, removing the oil cap.

Under the car, you will find the oil pan, which is a metal container with a bolt.

To empty the bowl into the bowl, this bolt will be released using the socket wrench.

We recommend that you clean the different oil-stained components with a cloth after this procedure, especially the bolt and washer that you will have to screw back on.
