About the Brand
Today, the majority of American women are sizes 10-32 and all of them are underserved. At Dia & Co, we have the radical notion that by putting these women first, we can serve them best. Unlike straight-sized retailers, we understand and honor curvy women through unparalleled fit and inspiring content. And unlike other plus-sized retailers, we put selection, trend and great design first. it's a radical way to shop, for real women.
Dia & Co is a monthly plus-size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia & Co, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes, and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five items that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 25% discount is applied if I chose to keep all five items too!
The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co may be entirely different than mine!
First Impressions
That Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month now comes as a sleeve.
Enclosed is an awesome message from Team Dia & Co! I selected all the pieces of this month. Since I picked all the items this month, I got a generic, but kind note from Dia & Co reminding me I always have the option to choose my own items or hand over the reigns to one of their equipped stylists too.
There's also an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item we selected along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off (if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. The total would be $341.00. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $255.75! The savings would be $85.25 if I did decide to keep everything! That would be like getting the Tatum Passion dress by City Chic for free -- that's pretty awesome!
Now for the fashions!
In my previous Dia & Co review, my stylist selected an awesome tie dye Marc NY dress that I essentially live in these days. I am actually wearing as I type up this review! Since that dress was such a success, I decided to give this shorter all black dress by the brand a go. I had to toss a black jersey dress that was extremely old and see through in parts, so getting this one now was perfect timing. I was hoping the material would be the same ultra stretchy, soft, and comfortable fabric as my last Marc NY dress. It isn't exactly the same. It has some stretch, but not as much and is more like a thinner t-shirt material. I do like the length of this one. Since it is shorter, I can easily transition this dress into colder months with tights, layered sweaters and cardigans, and my favorite—the faux leather biker jacket. Just complete the outfit with ankle booties or combat boots and you are set for fall and winter.
This month's Dia & Co had some fun, bold summer dresses! All but one were the City Chic brand. I selected every item myself and learned a lot about the City Chic sizing-- I am presently a solid XL (22) in the brand. The awesome thing about Dia & Co is they have a phenomenal return/exchange policy. When you put in your feedback on the month's selections, you just put in either that you want to return or exchange and mail the items back in the prepaid envelope supplied and drop it off at USPS! Easy peasy!
I do love picking out my own pieces—I am a self proclaimed shopping fiend, after all! I usually have a great gauge on the styles and fits I prefer on my body. However, I do also love collaborating, providing ample feedback, and allowing myself to be surprised by my stylist! Often, when I don't go buck wild and select all five items in my monthly style box, I try to select two or three pieces and let my stylist select the rest. I also write up a quick paragraph along with sending links to my Pinterest and IG. The purpose of providing those links is to help show my stylist how I look, what style clothing I wear, and how I prefer the fit of said clothing. It also allows my stylist to have a window into the kind of lifestyle that I lead. They are able to tell if I go out a lot socially, if I am the outdoorsy type, or if I work in an office setting, etc. This will help your stylist determine whether you need more lounge wear pieces or more business casual pieces, for example. I also like to go through the Dia & Co site and create favorites folders to go back to when I pick out pieces each month. This directly tells my stylist what appeals to me on the site itself.
As I mentioned before, you can choose all five pieces for a styling box, but did you also know that Dia & Co offers styling services for activewear, intimate pieces, and now swimwear too? This is perfect since summer is right around the corner! You also can forgo a styling box altogether and buy pieces directly from the site. All of these options allow you to skip the trip to the mall and just have gorgeous fashions delivered to your door step. With Covid cases on the rise yet again, it is nice to have such a convenience. Also, another perk is that you are able to accrue points from styling boxes and direct purchases that you can use towards purchasing additional items as well! I absolutely love Dia & Co and all the ways they allow you to use and enjoy their service. Are you as pumped as I am to see what I get next month?
